Everything captured in Unreal Engine 4.26.
Project Lexi was started when I joined Cubic Motion back in 2019, and was a character we made to show off Cubic's Rigging and Animation pipeline.
Digital Lexi is based off of the actress, Alexa Lee, whom Cubic Motion has worked with previously. She runs at +60fps on a GTX 2080 Ti with Raytracing (shadows, reflections, occlusion, GI), and was meant to show off what a next gen digital human could look like, being driven by Cubic Motions real time motion capture & animation pipeline.
I created everything except the rig. I was responsible for the character design, scan cleanup, topology, modeling, blendshapes, texturing, hair, material setup, lighting, set design, rendering, and optimization, and everything in between.
Digital Lexi's face is composed of over 60 primary blendshapes which were scanned at Infinite Realities, and many handmade corrective blendshapes. The clothing also has a range of blendshapes to support a full range of animation.
Many thanks to the rigging team at Cubic, Nicole Mustoe and Ilke Allers, for their work in rigging her and creating corrective blendshapes, and Anatole Menichetti for technical support.
